Conference of the Staff
The university's highest collegiate body of public self-governance.
The Conference of the Staff of H. S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University is the highest collegiate body of public self-governance. It exists so that the university community takes part in discussing and deciding the questions that shape the university — its teaching, research, organisation and working life.
The Conference is made up of delegates from academic and teaching staff, other employees and students, so every part of the community is represented in its self-governance.
Members of the Supervisory Board may also take part in the Conference in an advisory capacity.
What the Conference decides
- Approves a new edition of the University Statute on the Academic Council's proposal.
- Hears the Rector's annual report and assesses their work.
- Considers early termination of the Rector's powers on a reasoned proposal of the Supervisory or Academic Council.
- Approves the Internal Regulations and the Collective Agreement between the administration and the staff.
- Elects representatives to the Academic Council.
- Hears the head of the Primary Trade Union Organisation on the implementation of the Collective Agreement.
- Considers other matters of university life.
The Conference is where democratic self-governance, collegiality and shared responsibility for the university take practical form.
