On September 24, 2020, the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Methodological Conference "Frizman Readings: Scientific and Methodological Heritage, Continuation of Traditions" was held at H.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University in a mixed (online and face-to-face) format. It was devoted to the birth anniversary of Leonid Henrikhovich Frizman, an outstanding literary critic, doctor of philology, professor, long-term head of the Department of World Literature in H.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University.
L. H. Frizman is considered to be a great teacher and scientific supervisor by scientists from various universities of Ukraine, teachers of various philological departments of KhNPU, school teachers who are graduates of our university. He is the author of more than 50 monographs, 500 scientific articles on the history of literature and literary criticism; supervisor of 5 Doctors of Sciences and 54 candidates of sciences.
The conference was attended by 85 scientists from all over Ukraine, including Frizman’s former postgraduates and students: 18 doctors of sciences, 39 candidates of sciences, 10 senior University teachers, 18 postgraduate students from Bakhmut, Dnipro, Kamyanets-Podilsky, Kyiv, Ternopil, Lutsk, as well as various Kharkiv universities: Kharkiv State Academy of Culture; Kharkiv State Academy of Physical Culture; Kharkiv State Zooveterinary Academy; S. Kuznets KhNEU; Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs; Kharkiv National University of Pharmacy. Topical issues of modern literary criticism, linguistics, new methods of teaching language and literature were discussed; memories of the personality and work of a prominent philologist Leonid Frizman were shared during the conference.
