The Main Mission of the Department: The Department of Music Art provides quality teaching of music-pedagogical disciplines in the specialty 014 Secondary Education (Music Education) for full-time and part-time higher education applicants for the Educational levels «Bachelor» and «Master». Training is conducted under three educational programs:

1. Pop and Folk Singing in Educational Institutions;
2. Music Art in Educational Institutions;
3. Secondary education (Music Art). 

Our Task is to help each applicant discover the multifaceted world of music art, gain deep theoretical knowledge and practical skills for further professional development and a successful career. We strive for each student to gain invaluable experience in research, methodological, musical-instrumental, and vocal-choral training, expanding their horizons and opportunities after receiving higher education. 

Our Teaching Staff: famous professors, associate professors, performers, honored artists of Ukraine, members of music associations, are happy to help students master all aspects of the profession through the development of key competencies of a modern music teacher. 

Practical Experience and Opportunities for Higher Education Applicants: We offer our students a look at the life of a modern schoolboy who wants to play, sing, and perform, and provide an opportunity for higher education applicants to actively participate in concert events of instrumental and vocal-choral groups, scientific and artistic projects. Future music teachers have a unique opportunity to join the peaks of vocal-choral and instrumental art, gain experience of collective activity in creative teams, which are the pearls of the department, faculty, university, and city: the People’s Chamber Choir «Juventa» named after V.V. Korolevsky (dir. Vasylieva O. V.), Women’s choir «Anima» (dir. Sokolova A.V.), Student Orchestra of Folk Instruments (dir. Zhukov V. P.); Guitar Ensemble «Tredo» (dir. Martemianova A.V.); Accordion Ensemble «Domino» (dir. Danyliuk M. M.).

Creative and Scientific Events: The Department is proud to organize and conduct creative competitions of national and international level, which enjoy great authority among professionals in the field of music art: All-Ukrainian competition-festival «Art-Dominanta», International Folk Instruments Performers Competition «Art-Dominanta», International competition «Fortissimo». These bright events give students an excellent opportunity to demonstrate their talents, gain recognition, and improve their professional skills. For those who want to actively engage in scientific activities, we organize a scientific-practical conference «Time of Art Education» twice a year, publish scientific and methodological materials, and provide a platform for publishing research results in the scientific journal «Professional Art Education». It is worth noting that participation in such bright events not only expands artistic and teaching horizons but also provides valuable skills and organizational experience, which will be indispensable in the professional career of a future music teacher. 

Modernity and Innovation: We combine traditions with innovations to meet modern educational standards. Using advanced music technologies and the distance learning platform «Moodle», we manage to provide high-quality educational process for higher education applicants, regardless of their location. This reflects our ambition to be leaders in the field of music education, adapting to the needs of the modern student and the challenges of European educational integration. Openness and support: Focusing on interaction and openness, the teachers of the Department of Music Art are always ready to cooperate and support higher education applicants who want to develop and improve their musical talents and skills.
