Department of Philosophy

The modern Department of Philosophy at H.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University provides instruction in philosophy and philosophical-humanitarian disciplines across all faculties. These include "Philosophy," "Contemporary Communicative Philosophy" (taught in English for the specialty of 035 Philology within the Faculty of Foreign Philology), and "Philosophy of Ukrainian Culture and Education" for both bachelor's and master's programs. The department has also established a commission for the admission of entrance exams in philosophy for postgraduate and doctoral examinations in philosophy. 

The department offers postgraduate and doctoral programs in the specialty of 033 Philosophy. The educational program for postgraduates includes courses such as "History of Philosophy," "Philosophical Anthropology," "Philosophy of Education," and others. Additionally, elective courses have been developed to deepen knowledge and acquire relevant competencies.

The department's continuous efforts to enhance the level of philosophical education at H.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University are evident in its focus on combining educational activities with research. This is demonstrated through the systematic organization of scientific and theoretical seminars, the annual International Scientific and Practical Conference "Education and the Nation's Destiny," and "Under the Sign of Hryhoriy Skovoroda: The Starry Time of Ukrainian Culture»; members of the department publish academic works, including textbooks, monographs, and scientific articles, support the defense of dissertations by doctoral and postgraduate students.

The department is headed by Mariia Kultaieva, a PhD., professor, Head of the Department of Philosophy at H.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University, corresponding member of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine. She is the leader of the Scientific School of Cultural-Anthropological and Social-Anthropological Oriented Philosophy of Education.
