Ukrainian Language and Literature Faculty named after G.F. Kvitka-Osnovyanenko continues and develops the best traditions of 216-year activity of the flagship of Ukrainian classical pedagogical education — H.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University. The Faculty has a long history of the formation and development of linguistic, literary, journalistic and creative educational techniques, and it has a highly qualified and friendly teaching staff. Thousands of graduates became the intellectual elite of Ukraine - famous writers, talented journalists, qualified translators and editors, creative teachers, prominent scientists.

Educational and scientific programs for preparation of doctors of philosophy and doctors of sciences

035 Philology

Qualitative training of applicants of higher education is provided by five leading departments, which employ 14 doctors of science, professors, 40 candidates of sciences, associate professors:

 

Training is carried out on full-time and part-time forms of education, both at the expense of the state budget, and at the expense of legal entities and individuals. Foreign citizens from around the world (mainly from China, Vietnam and  Turkmenistan) study at the faculty.

The Faculty has a powerful material and technical base - Ukrainian Cultural Center, Polish Cultural Center, lingua-phone rooms, computer classrooms, equipped and renovated classrooms.

Applicants have the opportunity to additionally choose:

  • professional studios — library science, document science, journalism, literary creativity, editing, Ukrainian studies, Ukrainian as a foreign language, legal (judicial) linguistics.
  • language studios — English, Hebrew, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, German, Persia, Russian, French, and Japanees.

The system of international relations of the Faculty enables scientific and pedagogical workers and applicants of higher education to study abroad, and to cooperate with educational and scientific institutions around the world. Young people can develop organizational skills, working in the union of students and youth, professional union, realize their potential in literary and creative studios,, sports sections, student scientific clubs.

Applicants of higher education from other settlements are provided with a place in the dormitory. Conditions for distance learning are created.

Graduates of the Ukrainian Language and Literature Faculty named after G.F. Kvitka-Osnovyanenko work in institutions of secondary, higher, postgraduate education, scientific institutions, local authorities and state authorities, editorial offices and publishing houses, press centers and press services, advertising and translation agencies, cultural and art  projects, public organizations, and international institutions.
