The Department of Foreign Literature and Slavic Languages trains specialists in “Degree of Bachelor” (4 years),“Degree of Master” (1.5 years) in 014. Secondary education. Language and literature (Russian); PHD in 035. Philology at the third (educational and scientific) level of university study (graduate school).The educational process is carried out on a full-time and part-time basis.

The main goal of the Department of Foreign Literature and Slavic Languages is to provide the educational process in literary and linguistic disciplines at the G.F. Kvitka-Osnovyanenko Ukrainian Language and Literature Faculty, Foreign Philology Faculty, and other faculties of H.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University.

Objectives of the Department:

• providing educational and professional needs of students; filling the gaps in scientific questions: “Development and interaction of national literatures: the typology of styles and trends”; “Regularities of the functioning of Slavic languages: dynamic, pragmatic and methodological aspects”;
• introduction into the educational process of innovative technologies, methods and techniques that provide effective training and professional growth of higher education;
• informational, consulting and scientific activity in the system of training of pedagogical and scientific-pedagogical personnel in the subject area of philological education.
